RTÉ Nationwide Filming

Enjoying company and lovely meal before filming at Ennis Creative Arts Centre.
It was several months ago when lovely Shirley Bredin from Ennis Creative Arts Centre (ECAC) contacted me about opportunity to be filmed for the RTÉ Nationwide programme in the Centre. The filming took place on the first day of March and it will air very soon - Friday March 28th, 7.00 pm on RTÉ One. I loved the experience, but also was very nervous. I know there will be few of us nervous watching the programme when it will air, but I also think we all will laugh and be happy afterwards.

The programme will focus on Ennis Creative Arts Centre and classes the centre offers. On the day several amazing workshop demonstrations were filmed, some of us talked about connection with centre and how it have helped to develop our craft and business. Really looking forward to interview with Shirely and her family. I have to admit that Ennis Creative Arts Centre is located in the beautiful area of the Burren and hope the shoots from beautiful scenery will be included.

Special thanks to Shirley at Ennis Creative Arts Centre for the fantastic day and Frances McDonald for the help and support before the filming.

Visit Ennis Creative Arts Centre website for information about classes and have a look at galleries with amazing photos. ECAC blog also has great articles and wonderful tutorials worth checking out.
Among my creative buddies having fun short before filming.

I also would like to share with you few tips that helped me to prepare for this interview (it was my first interview) and hopefully someone else can benefit from this in the future:
  • prepare answers -  think what exactly you want to say and how to include it in the questions you  will be asked, write the answers down on the piece of paper and practice answering them. Say your answers out loud as well.
  • be yourself - I think it is very appropriate to remember "look good - feel good" quotes and if new dress and manicure is what will make you feel better, do it, but in general I think it's not necessary, just be yourself and be positive.
  • good display - if you have to present your work, it is essential to have a good display. Try out your display at home, take photos and see if you are happy. Don't make you display to look too busy, carefully select the pieces for display and definitely include your logo. I think it's nice if during filming you can interact with your work, handle it or try it on.
  • don't be afraid to ask questions - if you have any questions, even if you think they might be silly, ask them to the presenter before filming.

Take care and keep in touch!
